Dear Sweet Casey.....
Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 3:14PM This is Casey. She likes to think of herself as the "forgotten" family member. Before B came bouncing into our lives she got all the attention. When I went into labor I cried because I didn't feel like I had adequately prepared Casey for the arrival of the baby. She was our first.
Things have changed quite a bit in the past 2 and 1/2 years. I no longer seek out the fanciest dog stores to accessorize my dog, I don't go gaga over dog bakeries on vacations and I don't center my weekends around doing things that Casey would like to do. Casey's reaction to this? Lots of pouting and sighing. Although she is a bit of a drama queen she is an incredibly sweet dog, with an immense amount of patience for my son. To be honest, I would have tried to bite his face off by now if I were Casey. So this post is for her...our dear sweet mutt that has graciously taken a backseat over the last couple of years. I am hoping this will make it up to her. Muwah!!!!

Dear Casey, Perhaps you would be pleased with a beautiful portrait above the mantel. I read this post on Design Sponge and immediately thought of you. These are done by an amazing artist, Stevie Howell. Completely gorgeous.

Do you feel as if your collar just isn't bringing out the color of your stunning eyes? How about this from Lucky Fiona with id bling to go with it?

I know that lately your entire toy repertoire has consisted of old tennis balls or sticks. How about some chic toys from Bodhi? They may even bring some much needed zen back into your life.

One of the hardest things for you is not being able to sleep on our bed. What if we got you a super deluxe bed with nice clean contemporary lines like this one from Bark Deco .
or if your looking for something a little more traditional how about these from Lilly Goat Designer Dog Beds, plus I think the first one would be fabulous right at the foot of our bed, not on it, but directly next to it.
Finally, I am offering to wear this just for you. It is from Dejarnette, found via Creature Comforts. Ok, maybe I just want it because I really like it but there is a dog on it right? Anyway, we love you and I hope that this little attempt at buying your love worked.
Love,
Mom, Dad, and the little heathen
Both the contemporary dog bed and zen toys were found on Apartment Therapy...people who obviously know how to pamper their pets.

ooh, poor casey. i personally think he would love the bark deco dog bed (best name for a pet bed ever, hands down.) but the pet portraits would capture his beautiful face forever. mmmm.....great post. my dog loves it.
aw! casey is SO adorable, and that bark deco bed might be the most awesome dog bed i've ever seen!
What beautiful pictures of sweet Casey! I think you need to come over and take some of Sage for me to give to LD. Love the accessories you found!
Casey says go for the bark deco bed!
What a nice tribute to your doggie! You seem like a very good dog mama to me. And that necklace is awfully cute :)
sweet post and sweet pooch. love the eyes, how can you resist?! we've recently purchased new dog bed and designer dog tags to ease our guilt as well. perhaps tallulah and casey should start a blog!
mwah!mwah!mwah!
Casey is just gorgeous. What a wuvly poopy. mwah!
re-incarnate me as your dog.
some dogs have all the fun,
all the fun owners.
Oh your dog is so adorable!!!We have a cat before i had my first baby and we tried to come along but that cat wasn't that kind of cat who would have like to be in side house and she was so wild that we must give it to my mam...well she had so much better in there because she could get out in the forrest in there!Lucky you have a dog, maybe dogs understand better how to behave!
My bassets Chloe and Stella are feeling the same way...lonely. What a bad pup-pup mommy I have become.
She's SO beautiful! She has amazing blue eyes. I look forward to more pics of her in the future.
Casey is gooorgeous!
casey is an amazing looking dog. poor thing to not get so much attention as before. i'm sure she's still living a life of luxury that most dogs only dream about, if they knew to do so!
What a gorgeous dog! I've definitely considered getting custom portraits of our pets but I'm not sure my boyfriend would approve :D
I love that first photo. :)
Sending some love Casey's way. You should capture her lovely face in a custom portrait for sure.
too cute! It's the same story with our furry friend, Jack, he went from long hikes and trips to the lakes, and sleeping on our bed (!), to sitting in the garden 24/7 when our daughter came along. love your blog!
How on earth did I miss this post? Is it because it was over a year ago? :) Your Casey is absolutely gorgeous hun! I love her and you will see....my beauty(furry beauty) is on my blog today! *sigh* What would we do without dogs huh? :)
xoxo
